Michael Kramer

Michael Kramer is a recognized leader with a 30-year track record in growing organizations.  Fueled by the need to fund his college education, Michael launched his first business, The Can Do Company, at age of 15 and demonstrated early on his winning combination of entrepreneurial spirit, business acumen, and technological craftsmanship.

In 1983 Michael purchased his first computer, a Compaq Pro, and taught himself the fundamentals of managing data on the computer. He soon saw how appropriately applied technology, smart analysis, and market awareness can energize business.

Today Michael is the driving force and founder of Ameravant Web Studio, a full-service, state-of-the-art web design, development, and hosting company, headquartered in Santa Barbara. Since launching in 2001, Michael and his talented team have created hundreds of websites for businesses across the country.  Michael offers clients the full scope of his expertise, including start up business evaluation, branding, design, and technical execution.

His prior position as COO and CFO of a top enterprise software company reflects Michael's knack for stimulating business success. He leveraged his analytical abilities, marketing skills, and technological prowess to achieve unprecedented growth in just 18 months, expanding the company from six to 22 employees and $600,000 in annual revenue to more than $3 million.  He assumed similar leadership roles in several companies that enjoyed greater profits and/or efficiencies as a result of his innovations.

In 1993 Michael's landmark technological achievement came when he developed the first-of-its-kind mortgage analysis software enabling consumers to shop and compare mortgage loans online.  E-loan.com, the first website-to-consumer lender, leveraged Michael's data and technology. After two years, they secured $75 million in funding and became one of the largest online lenders in the country.

Michael later sold his company to the mortgage industry's top website developer, Myers Internet, who continues to use the application and data to power programs in thousands of websites.

Michael is dedicated to community service and spends hundreds of hours each year, in leadership positions, supporting non-profit groups and local businesses. He has served as six-year President of Santa Barbara Referrals, multi-term Director of Leads Club, Vestry (Board Member) of Trinity Episcopal Church, President of Interactive Santa Barbara, President of Santa Barbara BMW Riders, member of Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce, and Communications Committee member of Goleta Chamber of Commerce.

An extension of Michael's commitment to helping others, Ameravant has given discounted web services to more than 35 local non-profit organizations. The vast relationships he has built and his ability to empower others to succeed have firmly established Michael as a valued member of the Santa Barbara community.

Frequently invited to speak, Michael shares his expertise in maximizing websites through search engine optimization, marketing, and content management systems.

Michael graduated from Indiana University with dual Bachelors of Arts degrees in Business Marketing and Real Estate Administration.  For the record, he has taken only one formal computer programming class: FORTRAN on punch cards.
