WillBridge provides four primary services to the Santa Barbara homeless Community: Transitional Housing - shared housing offered to chronic homeless mentally ill adults. It is their first step when coming in from the streets, and moving to greater independent living. Permanent Supportive Housing is the next tier in WillBridge’s housing program for residents demonstrating their readiness for less supervision and more independence. These individuals move into private rooms or studio units, are enrolled in school, employed, or actively participating in a day program with 30% of their income going towards housing expenses. Peer Street Outreach Program - team (WillBridge staff, residents, Public Health Nurse, comunity volunteers) connect with an average of 65 chronic homeless individuals weekly not accessing services - they recieve clothes, hygiene products, sack lunches, assistance in completing applications for benefits, rides to scheduled appointments, referrals for additional services & encouragement to come to WillBridge or other housing options. Medical Respite - homeless individuals referred by Cottage Hospital for after-care following major surgery or illness.
Annual Homeless Foot Washing held on Holy or Maundy Thursday – WillBridge guest receive a continental breakfast, a gentle foot washing, manicure, new sneakers, hiking/work boots or sandals, socks, sack lunch and personal hygiene kit -The Community Resource Center offers easy access to 15 - 20 local agencies connecting clients to appropriate services. Community Service hours available through WillBridge Recycling Program.
WillBridge Yard Sales – WillBridge has two to three yard sales annually – it is a collaborative effort of WillBridge residents, staff and board members. New and used items are donated for the sale including: clothing; furniture; toys; plants; cosmetics; linen and much more. Your tax deductible donation helps house the homeless.
